Contact Lenses

​Customised contact lenses – including toric lenses – may be the answer if standard prescription lenses don’t give you clear or comfortable vision. This is often the case with higher levels of astigmatism or irregularly shaped eyes, where specialised lens designs can make a real difference.

Retinal imaging with our on-site fundus camera
​
Colour Fundus Retinal Photography, which is sometimes referred to as digital retinal imaging, uses a specialised fundus camera to record color images of the interior surface of the eye. These images are then used to search for certain medical conditions which can be picked up using this highly sensitive apparatus. These medical conditions picked up by Colour Fundus Retinal Photography include diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration, macular edema and retinal detachment. Fundus photographs allow the optician to take a better look at the back of the eye than when an ophthalmoscopy is performed and it allows them to aid in as well as evaluate and monitor certain eye diseases.

3D OCT Imaging​
​
At Oxia Optical, we offer Optical Coherence Tomography as part of our detailed eye disease detection and diagnosis consultation process. The OCT procedure is a noninvasive imaging technology which we use to obtain high resolution cross-sectional images of the patients retina.
This OCT Test is commonly performed when we are looking for either glaucoma or macular degeneration. This procedure can in most cases be performed without pupil dilation, however it is usually included as part of a patient's dilation exam. This baseline test is quick to perform and in most cases usually takes about 10 minutes to complete. Please note however that repeat Optical Coherence Tomography Scans will take approximately 5 minutes per eye.
